  • don't ever be tempted to have 'just the one' – it won't work!
  • enjoy the cleaner taste in your mouth, fresher smell of your clothes/house
  • reward yourself with the money you have saved
  • avoid stress and plan ways to react if there is a crisis
  • do more exercise and watch your diet
  • avoid places and people who trigger smoking
  • have a special celebration every month on the anniversary of your stopping date
  • help another smoker to stop
  • remember – you may get a lot of cravings during the first few days, but they usually only last three to five minutes so try and follow some of the tips above to avoid giving in!
