  • drink lots of water and eat raw fruit and vegetables
  • remove all cigarettes, matches and ashtrays from your house and car
  • visit the dentist and have your teeth cleaned
  • start putting the money aside you'd have spent on cigarettes
  • keep busy and change smoking related routines
  • have 'doodle' materials, food to nibble and water, all on hand
  • practice ways to refuse the offer of a cigarette
  • have a clear out and clean up of anything that smells of smoke
