Middlesbrough Mind Recovery Project (Mental health support)

Theme: Improving Health & Care

Project Description:

The Recovery Project provides:

·         mental health information

·         one-to-one emotional support

·         support groups and courses for people from West Middlesbrough who have any mental health needs.

The project is open access and people are encouraged to refer themselves for support.  The Recovery Project is there to support people with a range of mental health problems – from stress, anxiety and depression through to more serious and long term difficulties.

Middlesbrough Mind employs a Mental Health Support Worker to deliver this service - either over the phone (support line 01642 248809) or face-to-face.  Support is delivered on an outreach basis throughout West Middlesbrough at any community venue, or through home visits if appropriate.

To complement the support service, there are a range of mental health promotion activities and events, including mental health awareness training and other groups and courses.  Complementary therapy taster sessions are also on offer to community groups.
