Project Description:
The Public Health Nursing Team is based at the Whinney Banks site of Sure Start West Middlesbrough and includes School Nurses, Health Visitors, Nursery Nurses and Community Parent Advisors. The team offers a wide range of health services, activities and support including:
- a baby massage group
- health visiting to support families with children under five
- School Nurse drop-in sessions
- health drop-in sessions for the homeless
- child and family health clinics
- smoking cessation support
- child development/behaviour clinics
- health needs assessment of local residents
The team works in partnership with the NHS as well as local government and voluntary sector agencies
