Project Description:
The project is designed to improve access to substance misuse services by providing extra locally-based support, assessment and treatment services.
Treatment can be accessed within seven days of referral and most people are visited in their own homes. There is also a weekly drop-in and prescribing clinic at Whinney Banks and a drop-in clinic at Newport. Currently 83% of people are staying in treatment for more than 12 weeks, which is higher than the target set nationally.
The project also has a family/carer support worker who can work directly with the carers of substance users.

April 2001 to March 2010.
