There are three bases for the Sure Start programme in West Middlesbrough – Whinney Banks, Newport and Archibald Primary Schools and a range of different activities and facilities to support families and children with education, childcare, health, employment and training within a supportive, safe, child and family friendly environment are on offer.
The 60-place Stainsby Neighbourhood Nursery offers day care for children aged 0-5. The nursery is open Monday to Friday from 7.45am to 6pm and is based at the Whinney Banks School site. For more information call (01642) 354302.
Also at the Whinney Banks site is the Healthy Eating Bistro which offers delicious and healthy breakfasts and lunches from Monday to Friday. The Middlesbrough Toy and Equipment Library is based at the Whinney Banks site but can be accessed through your local Middlesbrough library - all you need to join is an adult library card. The Toy and Equipment Library has a wide range of toys suitable for children 0-14 years of age, including toys for children with special needs and is open Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 4pm.
