£210,000 has been used to transform a run down sports area into Newport All-Weather Pitch. The facility is floodlit and boasts two pitches with markings for five-a-side football, basketball and other games such as tennis. |
| Maldon Road |
| Residents in Maldon Road approached WMNT to ask for work to be carried out on an area of woodland next to the ‘backlands’ footpath that leads to the A66 footbridge. The woodland was quite overgrown leading to some residents feeling unsafe when using the footpath. |
| Longford Street alleyway improvements |
| The alleyway behind Longford Street has been transformed into an attractive, safe space for families and children to enjoy thanks to small scale environmental improvements carried out by WMNT. |
| Carter Park |
| £300,000 has been used to create a community park in West Lane. Carter Park features seating, lighting, railings and sculptures as well as mosaics by local children and new planted areas |
| Laycock Park |
One of the largest open spaces within the West Middlesbrough area, Laycock Park, caters for all providing open spaces for play, dog walking and football. |
| Stratford Crescent and Dunlane Close Area |
| Stratford Crescent and Dunlane Close were both overcrowded with cars parking half on the road and half on the footpath as there was no safe parking near to their homes. Due to this increasing problem residents went to their respective residents’ associations to ask for some work to be carried out in order to improve their circumstances |
