| The Shaw Trust is the UK’s largest charity helping disabled people and those on Invalidity Benefit to return to work. The Shaw Trust – with the help of £150,000 WMNT funding – has built a £1.2 million centre in West Lane to support 1000 people from across the Tees Valley every year. 200 (20%) of these people will be from West Middlesbrough. |

West Middlesbrough Works is the flagship project for the delivery of jobs and training opportunities within West Middlesbrough and is a partnership between Pertemps, At Work, JobCentre Plus, Connexions, West Middlesbrough Neighbourhood Trust and the European Social Fund. It replaces both the At Work project and Pertemps Personal Development Programme. |

The £2.54 million Macmillan Academy Learning Centre was officially opened by the Prime Minister, Rt Hon Tony Blair MP, in July 2002 but opened its doors to the public in September 2001. |
