The services being developed at the centre aim to combat the issues of access to employment, education and training with the most vulnerable and often hard to reach residents, as well as creating job opportunities through the development of new social enterprises.
The centre has training rooms, a computer suite, an advice and information service and a Young Person’s Co-ordinator. It also houses a Business Start-up Advisor and a team of Development Officers who will help find jobs, training places and work placements for people.
The Shaw Trust aims - through working in partnership with WMNT – to make the centre a place that West Middlesbrough residents are happy to visit, so that they find out more about what’s available.
The Shaw Trust expects to create ten new jobs at the centre and a further 50 jobs every year specifically for West Middlesbrough residents through the projects and schemes that will operate from the centre.
