Project Description:
The £2.54 million Macmillan Academy Learning Centre was officially opened by the Prime Minister, Rt Hon Tony Blair MP, in July 2002 but opened its doors to the public in September 2001.
Local residents and businesses can benefit from the use of state-of-the-art facilities including a computer training centre, TV studio and radio station, a multi-media conference room for up to 200 people and a café. A crèche is available for the children of people attending training courses.
The Centre – which is located next door to Macmillan Academy on Stockton Road - is also the base for the WMNT Enterprise and Employment Team and other organisations such as West Lane Residents’ Association and Middlesbrough Football Club’s Enterprise Academy.
When Project Starts and Ends:
September 2000 to March 2010. Centre opened in September 2001.
