WMNT’s vision for West Middlesbrough is a place where people are proud to live, work and raise their families.
We’ve set a number of objectives to help us achieve our vision, including:
- to test out new ways to manage our neighbourhood and ensure other neighbourhoods in Middlesbrough learn from our successes
- to develop high quality local services which are easier for people to access
- to build the capacity of residents and businesses so they can get more actively involved in the life of their communities
- to work in partnership with agencies and individuals to build up trust and share knowledge and information
- to ensure leading residents and stakeholders at the forefront of decision-making are accountable to the neighbourhood and achieve WMNT’s goals and priorities
We’re making good progress and developing new ways of involving local residents – including young people and our black and minority ethnic communities. Significant investment has been put into enhancing the skills and confidence of individuals and organisations.
At the same time, a process to help us improve the management of our performance has been put in place, ensuring we’re on track with our goals and priorities.
Information and Communication Technology is now being harnessed to get people more involved in the work of WMNT and improve access to services, information and learning.
We’re assessing how our assets – both land and buildings – can be best used to bring long-term benefits to the community and work is underway to develop new ways of working that will ensure our improvements are sustainable.
